The turbulent history of this South African catamaran

It took a long way to become the Escargot as we see it now: its construction at the Dean Catamarans shipyard in South Africa in 2005, its auction in 2014 by Spanish customs after its seizure for drug trafficking , its brief use as a charter in the Balearic Islands under the name Barlovento, its sinking in March 2017, its towing to Alicante, and finally our refit to become the Escargot.
